Zwarte Cross

Managing crowds in a unique festival setting
Zwarte Cross is a unique festival where music, motorsport, and a distinctive festival atmosphere come together. With large visitor numbers, multiple stages, and activities spread across a vast site in a rural setting, the event requires robust logistical management and continuous monitoring. Weather conditions can directly impact crowd flows, site conditions, and safety.
Crowdcom supports Zwarte Cross with visitor counting systems and density sensors to provide real-time insight into crowd levels, distribution, and concentrations across the site. In addition, a full-scale 'ECC Large' has been set up as the central operational command point, staffed by a data analyst. From this Event Control Center, crowd flows are actively monitored, allowing for proactive adjustments in response to rising crowd levels or changing conditions.
By combining counts, density measurements, and data-driven analysis with centralized management, maximum control over safety and crowd flow is achieved, while the festival's unique atmosphere is preserved.
